Bringing back balance, Common sense,

Our Leaders:
Our party organization begins at the local precinct level with the election of a Precinct Committee Person to a four-year term. This individual appoints a Vice Committee Person, and together they serve on the county committee. Each county committee elects four officers – a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. In addition to leading the county party organization, the Chair and Vice Chair also serve on our District Committee. The District Committee also elects a District Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. The District Chair and Vice Chair serve on the State Committee and elect officers at that level.

OUR DISTRICT
The Ninth Congressional District is composed of all or part of eighteen counties (Bartholomew, Brown, Clark, Dearborn, Decatur, Floyd, Franklin, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Lawrence, Monroe, Ohio, Ripley, Scott, Switzerland, and Washington ) in southeastern Indiana. Significant communities in the district include Bedford, Bloomington, Corydon, Jeffersonville, Lawrenceburg, Madison, Nashville, North Vernon, New Albany, Rising Sun, Scottsburg, Seymour, and Vevay.
A mix of suburban communities, rural farmland, as well as academic and industrial centers, the Ninth District has both a rich history as well as a dynamic place in Indiana’s future. The Town of Corydon (Harrison County) served as the first State Capitol from 1816 – 1825 and was also the home of Indiana’s 47th Governor, Democrat Frank O’Bannon (1930 – 2003). The home of two Indiana University campuses (IU Bloomington & IU Southeast), the district also contains a wealth of other educational institutions, including Franklin University and Ivy Tech. Significant business and industrial firms include American Commercial Barge Line, Cook Group, Indiana Limestone Company, IU Health Services, Koetter Woodworking, and Samtec, among others. Tourism and recreation play an important role in Brown County with the Brown County State Park, in Mitchell with the Spring Mill State Park and Astronaut Gus Grissom Memorial, and the Clifty Falls State Park in Jeffersson.
