The reason for all of this...

The next election is the Indiana Primary Election in Tuesday May 8, 2012 and the General Election is Tuesday Tuesday November 6, 2012.

Unsure if you are currently a registered voter in Indiana? Visit www.indianavoters.com or call the Hoosier Voter Hotline at (866)IN-1- VOTE to confirm your status. 

We encourage voting. But the Republicans in the state of Indiana have made voting difficult. Remember that you MUST take your picture ID that is GOVERNMENT issued with you into the polling place to vote, even if you are sure they'll know you.For example, you can us a driver's license or passport as your government issued ID.

AND- the R's have added other rules about how you get the government issued ID to make voting even more difficult. CHECK OUT THE DETAILS FIRST, so you don't get turned away at the polls!

Check
www.IndianaVoters.com for your voter registration information and polling place location. This is supposed to be a bipartisan site and is currently presided over by the Republican Secretary of State. You'll need Adobe Acrobat for some of the pdf documents on this site. See below for the link to get that download. The toll free number for that office 866-IN1-VOTE.

You can call our County Voter Registration Office at: 812-285-6329 or 812-285-6330 or 812-285-6355 or  Fax 812-280-5652. You can also go to the to the Clerk's Office County Building on Court Avenue in Jeffersonville to vote early and get an absentee ballot. Office Hours vary...Call them for details.

The Clark County Democrats can also help you with absentee ballots and help with other voting issues.
