Voting in Indiana
Last day to register to vote is April 7th, so DON"T delay if you have not registered!
For those excited about voting in a primary for presidential candidates...our primary is May 6th 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. Looks like Indiana might make a difference with this year's primary! Whatever the national race looks like, there will be BIG contests on the state and local levels, so don't skip the Indiana primary.
We (obviously) encourage voting. But the Republicans in the state of Indiana have made voting much more difficult. Remember that you MUST take your picture ID that is GOVERNMENT issued with you into the polling place to vote, even if you are sure they'll know you. (STAY TUNED!!!This is being deliberated by the U.S. Supreme Court.)

Check www.IndianaVoters.com for your voter registration information and polling place location. This is supposed to be a bipartisan site and is currently presided over by the Republican Secretary of State. You'll need Adobe Acrobat for some of the pdf documents on this site. See below for the link to get that download. The toll free number for that office 866-IN1-VOTE.

Important dates:

First day to vote absentee is April 7, 2008.

First day that confined voters will be delivered an absentee ballot by traveling board members is April 21, 2008.

Deadline to receive an absentee ballot application is midnight April 28, 2008, except for a confined voter or someone caring for a confined voter (that deadline is May 3rd)

Deadline to vote by absentee ballot in the county clerk's office is NOON May 5th.
